SureSmile®: How Adult Orthodontics May Help You Keep Your Teeth

Mar 16, 2023
If you’re an adult and want straighter teeth, SureSmile® may be just the ticket to help you get that beautiful smile. Read on to find out how it works!

You may be one of many adults who long for straighter teeth and a better smile. The difference in your situation, though, is that you now have an easy, affordable method that allows you to build an excellent smile while still keeping your teeth intact: SureSmile®.

SureSmile is a system of clear, plastic trays that moves your teeth from their current crooked position to where they are straight and even. It’s a fast, effective system that gets results, and it’s available at Tropical Dental Care in Tomball, Texas.

Here’s more about how the system works.

What is SureSmile?

If you’re dealing with misaligned teeth or bite abnormalities, but you don’t want a mouthful of bulky, metal braces for two years, SureSmile can give you the smile you’ve been dreaming of in a year or less.

The process starts with a digital scan of your mouth. Your dentist and the SureSmile digital lab experts will then work together to develop a customized treatment plan just for you. The lab will then produce a series of clear, plastic trays made with a high-precision, laser-cutting process.

You’ll wear the aligners in a specific order to move your teeth slowly and steadily to a position where they’re straight. Each set of trays will last about two weeks before switching to the next pair. All in all, the total SureSmile treatment time is usually under a year.

Am I a good candidate for SureSmile?

SureSmile can fix most common orthodontic issues, including overcrowding, overbite, crossbite, underbite, spacing or gaps in your teeth, an open bite, and crooked teeth. If you’re facing these issues, the system will be a great option for you.

You’ll also have to be committed to wearing your aligners for most of the day and night. You can pop them out to eat, drink, and brush your teeth (you’ll want to avoid stains and keep up your oral hygiene), but otherwise, your aligners should be in your mouth doing their steady, consistent work.

The process is helped with the VPro®, an at-home device you put in your mouth for five minutes each day that provides gentle vibrations to help your aligners fit properly and reduce discomfort.

When you’re ready to take the plunge and join the SureSmile world, Tropical Dental Care is here to help. Just call our office or use our online booking tool to request an appointment. You’ll have a new smile before you know what happened!
